Memoir
1944
The account of a man who, as a teenager, chose to serve in the French army at his own risk.
1944. Jean Belotti is seventeen when he enlists. From the liberation of Alsace to the 1945 campaign in Germany, then with the French expeditionary corps in Indochina, where he lives through the Viet Minh attack of 19 December 1946, he recounts a youth swept up by history.
The account continues with extraordinary flights alongside civilian and military pilots, until 1953.
A commitment made in the name of the nation’s sovereignty and dignity. A remarkable reminder of a moving chapter of French history.
Foreword by Yves Guéna, former French minister and president of the Fondation Charles de Gaulle, Grand Cross of the Légion d’honneur, holder of the Croix de guerre 1939-1945 and the Médaille de la Résistance.
